Africa: a laboratory of political innovation, by and for women of African descent
This program is dedicated to promoting effective strategies for black/African descendant women, in all their diversity, to overcome the challenges and barriers they face in accessing and actively participating in politics in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Political innovation laboratory
This laboratory promotes strategies to address the challenges and barriers that Black/African-descendant women experience, in all our diversity, to access and participate in politics in Latin America and the Caribbean. In a cross-cutting manner, we promote the formation of a collective fabric of Black Afro-Latin American, Caribbean and Diaspora women for political innovation.
Approach and activities
Empowering Afro-descendant women to lead political transformation
- It focuses on political innovation, developing and promoting new forms of participation and leadership.
- It works to identify and dismantle structural barriers, including racism and sexism in the political sphere.
- Promotes the creation of networks and strategic alliances among Afro-descendant women leaders and organizations.
- Promotes training and capacity building for advocacy and effective representation.
As an integral part of AMÉFRICA, we continually promote the creation of an black Afro-Latin American, Caribbean and Diaspora women's collective fabric for political innovation.
Increase the representation and influence of Afro-descendant women in decision-making spaces, contributing to more inclusive and equitable policies that reflect the diversity of our societies and promote racial justice.
