The School of Values for Sustainable Development, Identity and Culture of Peace

The School of Values for Sustainable Development, Identity and Culture of Peace is an experience of social innovation promoted by the Friends of Unesco Corporation in articulation with the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF)as part of the program Ethnic Territories with Well-being.

Inspired by the Agenda 2030 of the Sustainable Development Goals and the International Decade for People of African DescentThis initiative was designed to have a significant impact on 360 Afro-descendant families in Valle del Caucaprioritizing dignity, justice and collective well-being.

This project is conceived as an alternative and integral proposal of psychosocial interactionThe program promotes the strengthening of the Afro-descendant family organization as a protective, co-responsible and rights-guaranteeing environment. Through community meetings, values are strengthened that reinforce the ethnic identity, culture of peace and responsible leadershiprecognizing families as key agents in social and territorial transformation.
