Our approaches
We believe that genuine and lasting change is born from the combination of innovative strategies and a deep respect for local and ancestral knowledge. Illuminating our actions from the approaches:
Ethnic Afro-descendant anti-racist, gender, intersectional and rights-based.
By enunciating ourselves from this center, we strengthen capacities and accelerate learning processes from within, generating ecosystems of social transformation that are sustainable, especially in contexts of exclusion and marginalization. We seek to go beyond superficial solutions, addressing the roots of inequality and promoting racial, restorative, restorative, restorative social and climate justice.
We promote effective actions based on a deep knowledge of the territories and their particular dynamics. This allows us to design and implement relevant interventions with real impact.
We encourage the co-creation of innovative solutions that respond to the specific challenges of communities. We integrate social and political innovation with the richness of Afro-diasporic technologies and ancestral knowledge.
We believe in learning by doing. Our programs are designed to strengthen the capabilities of individuals and organizations through direct and participatory experiences.
We recognize diversity as a strength. We develop and apply tools and methodologies that are sensitive to gender, ethnic-antiracist, intersectional and decolonial approaches, adapting to the unique needs of each population group.
Pillars of our methodological action
We strengthen capacities, foster afro futures in wellbeing and accelerate transformation processes through our marimba methodology: an innovation system that proposes a social and ancestral methodology to innovate with a differential ethnic and cultural afro approach, which uses social and ancestral technologies to create real, liquid and horizontal scenarios that serve as a basis for solutions to emerging problems with an innovation approach, solutions that are born from and for the community context and that are managed by the community itself.
Honoring knowledge, building futures
A fundamental part of our approach is the implementation of ethnomethodologies.
We recognize and value the wisdom transmitted through generations, integrating ancestral practices and knowledge in our interventions.
We start from the principle that communities possess vast knowledge about their own realities and the most effective solutions. We work collaboratively to validate and enhance this knowledge.
We understand the importance of cultural identity and shared history as drivers of resilience and transformation. We incorporate the spiritual legacy and collective memory in our processes.
We promote the generation and management of knowledge that arises directly from local experiences and contexts, ensuring its relevance and applicability.
Advocacy and network strengthening
We understand that social transformation requires more than isolated projects; it requires a change in structures and policies. For this reason:
We do strategic advocacy
We focus on the strategic agendas of ethnic groups, women and youth, bringing their voices and proposals to decision-making spaces.
Multi-actor fabric construction
We believe in the power of collaboration. We actively work to strengthen multisectoral networks and alliances to broaden the impact of our actions and promote a united front for justice and equity. This effectiveness in building alliances is one of our historical strengths.
